Cycle Day 23

Why is it when your trying to conceive a month takes forever? I am on cycle day 23 and this month feels like the never ending cycle. I think its just because we will be doing our firt IUI with donor sperm around cycle day 11 or 12 next month. When I start my period I'm to call the OB's office to scheudle a day 10 ultrasound to see if the follicles are maturing. If so, I will be givien an injection of HcG to induce ovulation and 24-36 hours later the insemination will happen. I guess if I'm being so impatient now I am absoutely going to go crazy when I'm in the official Two Week Wait! Gary and I have not discussed wheather or not he will go for insemination? I will not be overly concerned if he is not able to go, with his work schedule of comuting 3 hours per day makes things really hard to plan anyting.

It's going to be really hard not to share my excitment with everyone I know when I do get a positive test result. All of my friends and family know that we are doing the IUI and we talk about it a lot but I would like to keep our little secret for at least a month because so much can go wrong. Anne & Sarah, Gary's grown children don't even know we are planning on getting pregnant so it will be a total shock for them. I guess a lot depends on if I have morning sickness or don't feel well, then my co-workers will know right from the beginning. I want to think of a fun way to tell Gary but I think he will know as soon as I do, he's pretty in tune with my body.

New Running Shoes!

Today I ordered a new pair of running shoes, Asics Gel Nimbus 10.
I'm bummed that this next week is the last week of boot camp until September! I never thought I would get to the point that I look forward to working out in the 100 degree heat harder than I have ever exercised in my life. I can tell that my body is toning up some, I don't think my belly is sticking out as far as it was and my legs feel stronger. I'm starting to be able to feel my tricep muscle again, thank goodness. Karen the boot camp instructor said if we can find four people to do a small class personal training for the next month she would do it. It's $100 for 10 sessions. I hope we can find four people to do it so I can keep making progress at the same pace that I have been. If I do the personal training for the month of August and then start boot camp again in September I should be able to see a difference in my arms by Shelly wedding. I really don't want horrible flabby arms in my bridesmaid dress.

Running with a truck tire!

Friday night boot camp was SO hard, the hardest it has been since I've started the class. We started off running 1/2 mile around the high school track and then we ran the stairs of the bleachers. It was like a flash back from high school gym class...yuck! There are 47 stair and it felt like 147, my legs were on fire but I kept at it and made it for the duration. After we ran the stairs we went to the middle of the football field and picked a tire, yes a truck tire! OK, the fat girls really got screwed in this becuase you had to find a bigger tire to fit over your butt and carry it around your middle. With the tire around our waist we ran to the 50 yard line and back. We then rolled our tire to the 100 yard line. That doesn't seem like it would be that hard but when you try to roll a truck tire in the grass while walking it keept falling down. Soon I learned the key was to get the tire rolling fast and run with it...ahhhhh...so you even have to work HARDER! We then went and ran another set of stairs and went back to doing more tire work. I was sure I would have very badly bruised wrists and arms but they only have a couple little bruises. We ran/walked around the track two more times then it was off to do resistance bands and ab work with a 4 pound weighted ball. After the class was over Nikki & were discussing how much we thought a tire weighed so we got the scale from my house, went back to the high schoool and weighed the truck tire we had toted around....39 pounds!

I'm trying not to get disappointmed that the scale is not going down faster! This moring I was 199.6, I really want to get back to 188 in the NEAR future.

5th Day of Boot Camp

Tonight was the 5th class of my fitness boot camp! It was 101 degrees at 5:30 p.m. and I was pretty sure I was going to die before we even started. You know it's hot when you walk out of the gym and it feels like you have walked into an oven! The class is a lot less painful than it was a week ago! It really is amazing how fast you body will adapt from being completely inactive to working out hard for an hour. It seems like I can run a little farther each day and that is my goal. I supposed if I would run/walk on my off class days that I would progress even faster. My sister asked me to do a 5k race with her this Saturday. I know that I'm ready to even attempt to run 3.1 miles but they are having a 2 mile run and I think I can do it by running/walking it.
